The Hotel at Auburn University will host Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 20th from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The event features 100 plus craft beers, traditional German food, live music and lots of TV’s throughout for college football fans. This will also be the first year for “Homebrew Alley,” a competition for homebrewers who can have the opportunity to compete alongside local, regional and national brewers.
“Homebrew Alley” will follow BJCP guidelines and the details are listed below:
- There will be 15-20 spots available for the first year
- Registration deadline is August 15th. A sample of your product must be provided by September 5th. The participants will be notified on the 5th.
- If selected, the entry fee will be $50 and will include entry for you, a guest and your beer. Also, we will cover the tent, table, ice, coller, etc., but anything needed for draft purposes must be covered by you.
Last years event attracted over 750 guests and this year the attendance is expected to increase to around 1,000. You can find more information on Oktoberfest at www.auhcc.com/oktoberfest.
